(plot tweak #2342... or more accurately, the third or fourth time I've rewritten it)
Long ago, angels were sent to earth for the people who deserved kindness the most. But to prove that humans were too flawed to live on their own, demons were made to destroy the defenseless angels. Soon enough, two defenders of balanced power (one male, one female; one for peace and for power) were sent to different parts of the world to target these demons. After many battles, the monsters knew they could not win unless they targeted these soldiers first. Though they appear to be a dying breed, the demons now make it their priority to destroy not the angels, but these soldiers known to them as Manasouls.
LETS SEE HOW LONG THAT PLOT LASTS BEFORE PAPER FINDS A HOLE AND/OR HATES IT. xP
This is magical Shiori Tagami, and despite that I like drawing Atsuko and Sanji more, Shiori is, in fact, the main character. I've drawn her a couple times, but never fully in her "fairy" form. And I really really REALLY need to stop recoloring her cause I always mix up the blues... so er... this is now the official coloring. xP
I wanted to come up with a plot that was more than magical sparkles that spawned out of no where. At first, I played with the thought that the Manasouls were angels themselves, but I didn't want them to come off as gods or something. Their power is limited as far as helping humans goes, though they make up for that by being able to fight, I guess. Shiori's powers are weaker than Sanji's, but she has the power to heal him or herself. Iono. The world needs moar cleric powaa~
It does destroy my idea for the theme of their being two sides to everything. Shiori was supposed to represent light and Sanji was the dark, yet you couldn't have one without the other. That was also supposed to shown in the relationships and one of the villians that also continually goes through redesign every time I draw her.
Alas... I do not understand how manga artists get so pro. Ah well. xP
TECHNIQUE-WISE... I sketched it on mega paper, did the lineart on mega paper with fun inking pens, scanned it, FIXED the lineart cause I can't do lineart to save my life , and, well, digitized it from there. The whole picture was giantgiant. Like even though it didn't take up the whole paper, I had to scan each corner and paste 'em together. That didn't go so well and was another reason why I had to patch up the lineart.
Awesome job! This is prolly one of your best pics yet. ^_^
The pose is really cool and dynamic, and the perspective works well. My only criticism would be the legs look just a little short, but it took me a while of staring to notice. It's a really hard perspective to do. XD;

People kept telling me the hand was too big, but maybe it got hidden beneath the light enough? Iono. And my dad said about the same thing about her legs. More to spearmint on, then~
